Climate Change

Extremes of weather brought about by climate change expose prevailing vulnerabilities and cause the incidence of disasters to increase. New and exacerbated vulnerabilities result from each disaster as cyclical consequences of domestic and community displacement. These are the disaster cycles that should be the focus of our attention. The impact of climate change is greatest upon cities, ports, harbours and other settlements on low-lying coastlines and deltas, upon poorer countries, and upon countries with weak governance and endemic corruption as prime causes of under-development.
